IPv6 support in the command-line interface
Command line
The TransPort router command-line interface provides support for IPv6 addressing in these areas:
"eth" command
The eth command has several new parameters to support IPv6 addressing on Ethernet interfaces:
ipv6_mode (off, wan, lan)
The operating mode of the Ethernet interface.
ipv6_wan (0, <number of ipv6_wan parameter instances> - 1)
Determines which ipv6_wan parameter group instance will be used by the interface if ipv6_mode is
set to wan.
ipv6_lan (0, <number of ipv6_lan parameter instances> - 1)
Determines which ipv6_lan parameter group instance will be used by the interface if ipv6_mode is set
to lan.
eth x status
Shows IPv6 addresses currently assigned to the interface after the existing IPv4 information.
"ipv6_wan" command
ipv6_wan configures a WANto use IPv6 addressing. There are two instances of this parameter group.
Parameters include:
ra_learn (OFF, ON)
Enables learning of prefixes, routes and DNS addresses from an upstream router (supports up to 2
upstream routers on a first-come, first-served basis).
"dhcpv6_client" command
dhcpv6_client enables the DHCPv6 client on the WAN interface. If enabled, the device will attempt to
learn IPv6 addresses, delegated prefixes, and DNS server addresses from an upstream router. The
allowed values for this command are OFF and ON.
"ipv6_lan" command
ipv6_lan configures a LANto use IPv6 addressing. There are 6 instances of this parameter group.
Parameters include:
mode (slaac, dhcpv6, slaac_dhcpv6)
Determines the operating mode for the LAN interface.
n slaac: The device sends RA messages. The managed and other config flags are both clear.
Prefix options will have the autonomous config flag set.
