7.2.9 Restoring the Configuration
The two configuration files may be restored using a TFTP client on an external machine (e.g.
MS Windows*, Unix* or other), if the switch configuration has been lost or corrupted. It is rec-
ommended that you use FORE Stack View for restoring the configurations rather than manual
TFTP.
7.2.10 Reset to Factory Defaults
If the configuration in the switch has been corrupted in such a way that the switch is not able
to start properly after reset (System LED goes red), it may be necessary to reset the switch con-
figuration to factory defaults. The RUN Defparm command can be used to do this. Note that
this will discard the existing configuration in the switch. This method can also be used if the
configuration by mistake has made it impossible to contact the switch by other means. It is
also the only way to regain access to the switch if the administrator password has been lost.
