DC system current rating
For each input, we recommend that you provision 92.5 A @ –48 V. Doing so enables you
to operate the packet transport switch in any configuration without upgrading the power
infrastructure. You must provision a circuit breaker for each DC PDU input rated for at
least 125% of the continuous current that the system draws at –48 VDC.

To allow for future growth so that you can operate the PTX5000 Packet Transport Switch
in any hardware configuration without upgrading the power infrastructure, we recommend
that you provision 92.5 A @ –48 VDC per input. Although the power requirements for
each input may vary, we recommend that you provision the same amount of power for
each input. Actual power consumption will be less than the recommended amount
provisioned.
