RF Downconverter Section
RF Downconverter Section Description
RF Downconverter Section Description
RF Section Purpose
The assemblies covered in this section are responsible for filtering and
down-converting the full range of frequencies input to either of the
instrument's front panel inputs to a 322.5 MHz intermediate frequency (IF) for
further processing by the A2 Analog IF & A3 Digital IF assemblies.
There are three different frequency range options that can be ordered with the
N9038A EMI Receiver.
— Option 503, 3.6 GHz Maximum Frequency
— Option 508, 8.4 GHz Maximum Frequency
— Option 526, 26.5 GHz Maximum Frequency
— Option 544, 44.0 GHz Maximum Frequency
There are multiple signal paths through the front end of the instrument. The
number of different signal paths that an instrument uses will depend on the
frequency range of the instrument. In addition to signal paths there are also
different 1st LO mixing modes used within certain signal paths, resulting in
multiple bands for each frequency range option. These bands are defined in
Table 6-1 below.
