SW2 Transfer Switch
The SW2 Transfer Switch is a four port coaxial switch with three signal paths
that will need to be verified, as shown in Figure 4-23. They are:
1. Bypass Path (P1 to P4)
2. Transfer Out Path (P1 to P2)
3. Transfer In Path (P3 to P4)
Figure 4-23 SW2 Transfer Switch
The state of the three signal paths versus the state of the instrument RF
Preselector setting can be seen in Table 4-4.
Verifying The SW2 Transfer Switch Functionality
1. Remove the instrument dress cover (MP24) and top brace (MP10). Refer to
Chapter 18, “Assembly Replacement Procedures.” for instructions on
removing these covers.
2. Remove the hardware that attaches the front frame assembly to the
chassis and slide it away from the rest of the instrument, but do not
disconnect W8 which connects it to the A8 Motherboard assembly, or W1
which connects to the A23 Limiter assembly. Refer to Chapter 18,
“Assembly Replacement Procedures.” for instructions on removing the
front frame assembly.
