RF Preselector Section
RF Preselector Section Purpose
A24 Conducted Filter Assembly
The A24 Conducted Filter assembly provides the preselector filters that are
required in the frequency range of 20 Hz to 30 MHz.
There are a total of fifteen different signal paths through the A24 Conducted
Filter assembly which are broken up into two main sections. These two
sections are the Low Band Filters and the High Band Filters. All of the filters on
the A24 Conducted Filter assembly are fixed frequency filters and no tuning or
adjustments are required.
Low Band Filters
The low band filter section covers a frequency range of 20 Hz to 2 MHz and
is broken up into 5 different bands. They are:
— Band 0 - 20 Hz to 40 kHz
— Band 1 - 20 Hz to 150 kHz
— Band 2 - 150 kHz to 1 MHz
— Band 3 - 1 MHz to 2 MHz
— Through Path - 20 Hz to 2 MHz
Bands 0 and 1 use lowpass filters while bands 2 and 3 use bandpass filters.
Band 0 is not used during normal instrument operation.
The through path has no filtering and is only used during the instrument
alignment and calibration.
High Band Filters
The high band filter section covers a frequency range of 2 MHz to 32 MHz
and is broken into 10 different bands. They are:
— Band 4 - 2 MHz to 5 MHz
— Band 5 - 5 MHz to 8 MHz
— Band 6 - 8 MHz to 11 MHz
— Band 7 - 11 MHz to 14 MHz
— Band 8 - 14 MHz to 17 MHz
— Band 9 - 17 MHz to 20 MHz
— Band 10 - 20 MHz to 24 MHz
— Band 11 - 24 MHz to 28 MHz
