A15 Front End Control Assembly Troubleshooting
9. Change the Mechanical Attenuator setting to 6 dB by pressing AMPTD,
Attenuation, Mech Atten, 6 dB.
10.Verify that the status of the A10 Input Attenuator B LEDs on the Front End
Control Test board are as shown in Table 8-5 for the Mechanical
Attenuator - 6 dB instrument setting.
If the state of the status LEDs is correct proceed to the next step. If not,
there is most likely a problem with the A15 Front End Control assembly.
11.Change the Mechanical Attenuator setting to 20 dB by pressing AMPTD,
Attenuation, Mech Atten, 20 dB.
12.Verify that the status of the A10 Input Attenuator B LEDs on the Front End
Control Test board are as shown in Table 8-5 for the Mechanical
Attenuator - 20 dB instrument setting.
If the state of the status LEDs is correct proceed to the next step. If not,
there is most likely a problem with the A15 Front End Control assembly.
13.Change the Mechanical Attenuator setting to 30 dB by pressing AMPTD,
Attenuation, Mech Atten, 30 dB.
14.Verify that the status of the A10 Input Attenuator B LEDs on the Front End
Control Test board are as shown in Table 8-5 for the Mechanical
Attenuator - 30 dB instrument setting.
If the state of the status LEDs is correct proceed to the next step. If not,
there is most likely a problem with the A15 Front End Control assembly
15.Change the Mechanical Attenuator setting to 66 dB by pressing AMPTD,
Attenuation, Mech Atten, 66 dB.
16.Verify that the status of the A10 Input Attenuator B LEDs on the Front End
Control Test board are as shown in Table 8-5 for the Mechanical
Attenuator - 66 dB instrument setting.
If the state of the status LEDs is correct proceed to the next step. If not,
there is most likely a problem with the A15 Front End Control assembly.
17.If no trouble has been found with the control logic coming from the A15
Front End Control assembly, yet there is still a problem with the A10 Input
Attenuator B, refer to Chapter 5, “RF Preselector Section.” for further
troubleshooting information on the A10 Input Attenuator B itself.
