Powering, Verification, and Circuit Pack Installation for the DDM-2000 OC-12 Multiplexer
Lucent Technologies - Proprietary
See Notice on first page
NOTE:
At the CO, the far end telemetry closure number is dependent upon the CO and
RT site addresses. Unless the customer specifies otherwise, the CO site address
should be set for site 7.
(2) Set the BBG5 SYSCTL circuit pack option switches per customer engineering
records or requirements as shown in Figure 5-3 on page 5-17.
NOTE:
In the absence of engineering records refer to Table 5-1 on page 5-15 for sug-
gested BBG5 SYSCTL circuit pack option settings.
NOTE:
The data rate (baud rate) on the BBG5 SYSCTL circuit pack (switch 3) must be
set to be compatible with that of the PC. The higher the rate used for communi-
cating, the faster the software can be downloaded. A usage rate higher than
9600 baud is not recommended.
(3) Place, but do not fully install, the BBG5 SYSCTL circuit pack into the shelf.
BBG8 SYSCTL Circuit Pack
The BBG8 SYSCTL is required for OC-12 Release 5 and 7.
(1) The BBG8 SYSCTL circuit pack has two option switches for assigning:
Product Identification
TBOS termination
NOTE:
TBOS is not supported by OC-12, Release 7.
(2) Set the SYSCTL circuit pack option switches as shown in Figure 5-4 on page 5-
21.
(3) Place, but do not fully install, the SYSCTL circuit pack into the shelf.
BCP1 OHCTL Pack
The BCP1 OHCTL is required for OC-12 Releases prior to Release 5.0.
The BCP1 OHCTL circuit pack contains three option switches: switch S1, S2, and S3.
Switch S1 provides network element number selection for each shelf. The network
element number and the site ID form a unique address for a shelf at a site. Switch S2
provides DCC identification for Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Interworking.
(1) Determine the network element number from the customer and set S1 as
shown in Figure 5-5 on page 5-23.
