(5) Obtain a Group 154, 184 or 155 (D.A.) DS1 timing mult cable listed in Table 2-6
on page 2-39.
(6) Connect the cable to connector J66 of the top OC-12 shelf in the bay.
(7) Route the cable to the side of the bay and down and connect to connector J65
of the shelf below as shown in Figure 2-23 on page 2-70.
(8) Dress and tie the cables in the bay as close to the backplane as possible with-
out touching any backplane pins.
OC-3/OC-12 Bay Intershelf DS1 Timing Cabling
(1) Obtain an ED-8C724-30, Group 339, 340, 530, 531 or 341 (D.A.) DS1 timing
cable and connect it to J37 of the bottom DDM-2000 OC-3 shelf in the bay per
Figure 2-24 on page 2-71.
(2) Route the timing cable out of the bay to the same DS1 timing reference that is
connected to the DDM-2000 OC-12 shelf, stacking the cables as shown in Fig-
ure 2-2 on page 2-49 or Figure 2-3 on page 2-50.
(3) Dress and tie the cables in the bay as close to the DDM-2000 OC-3 backplane
as possible without touching any backplane pins.
(4) Cut the cable to the desired length and wire-wrap the loose end of the DS1 tim-
ing cable to the output of the DS1 reference clock making connections as shown
in Table 2-14 on page 2-46.
(5) Connect an ED-8C724-20, Group 373 or 374 (D.A.) DS1 timing mult cable to
J37 of the top DDM-2000 OC-3 shelf in the bay.
(6) Route the cable to the side of the bay and down and connect to connector J44
of the shelf below as shown in Figure 2-24 on page 2-71.
(7) Repeat the previous two steps until all DDM-2000 OC-3 shelves in the bay have
DS1 cabling multing them to each other.
(8) Dress and tie the cables as close to the backplane as possible without touching
any backplane pins.
