NOTE:
Skip this test for Release 3.1 or Releases 5 or 7 unless you provision the applica-
tion value for 1+1 as shown in this procedure. The 1+1 application value is used
for OC-3 linear extensions.
NOTE:
 This test cannot be applied when the application value is 0x1 because both
OLIUs of an FN pair are simultaneously active.
(1) Perform this test for FN positions equipped with OLIU circuit packs.
(2) In order to perform this test, change the application value from 0x1 to 1+1 as fol-
lows:
Release 5.0:
set-oc3:fn-{a, b, c, or d},dgr=,kbyte=,app=1+1, aisalm=;

Release 5.1 and higher:
set-oc3:fn-{a, b, c, or d},dgr=,syncmsg=,app=1+1,
aisalm=;
(3) Perform the following steps for each pair of 21G3-U or 21D-U FN OLIU circuit
packs.
(4) Disconnect the lightguide jumper from the IN connector of the active OLIU cir-
cuit pack.
The FAULT LED on the OLIU should begin to flash and the ACTIVE LED on the
other OLIU of the circuit pack pair should light. On the user panel the MN and NE
ACTY alarms should light.
(5) Disconnect the lightguide jumper from the IN connector of the second OLIU cir-
cuit pack of the pair.
The FAULT LED on the OLIU should begin to flash, the MN alarm should extin-
guish and the CR alarm should light on the user panel.
(6) Reconnect the lightguide jumper on the first OLIU.
