Powering and Verification
Shelf Power Description
The 48 V DC power feeders connect to the shelf’s user panel and, after fusing, through
the backplane to the circuit packs.
Procedure
(1) Verify that the frame or structure into which the DDM-2000 OC-12 shelf is
installed is properly grounded.
(2) Verify that the DDM-2000 OC-12 shelf is properly grounded to the frame or
structure.
(3) Verify that a 10 ampere fuse is installed in the DDM-2000 OC-12 user panel for
each feeder.
(4) Refer to Figure 5-1 on page 5-15 and disconnect the power cable from the back-
plane cable (P1 from J1 and P2 from J2).

* The voltmeter must be capable of measuring DC voltage in the 40 to 60 volt range.
1Wrist Strap

†A wrist strap must be worn when touching the DDM-2000 OC-12 backplane and
when connecting cables. Use the electrostatic discharge jack on the user panel.
1 Personal Computer

‡ Software download requires an MS-DOS compatible personal computer (PC) and an
EIA-232 interface cable.
