1. Maximum per shelf is based on Point-to-point applications only.
2. Minimum functionality, as defined here, includes protection switching, thus protection circuit packs are
included.
* The BBG8 SYSCTL and BCP4 OHCTL are used with Release 5 or 7.
† The function unit slot positions may be equipped with BBG11 3DS3s, BBG12 3STS1Es, 21G3-U OLIUs, or
21D-U OLIUs, or some other combination of pairs of these circuit packs, (Release 3.0 Ring software will
not accept OLIUs in function unit positions).
†† The 23H-U OLIU is a 1550nm long reach regenerator.
§ Unequipped function unit shelf position slots MUST be filled with 177B apparatus blanks to ensure proper
air flow.
§§ Unequipped MAIN shelf position slots MUST be filled with 177C apparatus blanks to ensure proper air
flow.
