End-To-End Installation Tests for Ring
Applications of the DDM-2000 OC-12
Multiplexer
Overview
Description
This section provides instructions to verify optical fiber connections, test end-to-end
transmission, and test miscellaneous discrete telemetry for ring applications of the
DDM-2000 OC-12 Multiplexer.
This section can ONLY be performed after each end has been tested. For central
offices, the “Stand-Alone Installation Test” section MUST have been previously
completed. This section requires personnel at both ends of the system. Office alarms
should be disconnected to prevent constant alarms throughout this section.
The following installation tests are run only in an out-of-service mode of operation.
Interruption of service will result if these tests are run on an operating in-service
system.
If problems are encountered, refer to the “Troubleshooting” section of this manual. For
detailed troubleshooting, refer to 363-206-290 (Release 5) or 363-206-295 (Release 7),
