Stand-Alone (Local) Installation Tests for the
DDM-2000 OC-12 Multiplexer
Overview
This section provides instructions on the use of an American Standard Code for
Information Interchange (ASCII) terminal and the stand-alone installation tests which
should be performed.
The stand-alone installation tests verify the following:
Shelf transmission
Wiring to DSX-3/STSX
Nontransmission wiring
Protection switching.
Description
These installation tests are for the DDM-2000 OC-12 Multiplexer. The installation tests
in this chapter should be run only in an out-of-service mode of operation. Interruption of
service will result if these tests are run on an operating in service system.
If problems are encountered, refer to the “Troubleshooting” section of this manual. For
detailed troubleshooting, refer to 363-206-207 (Releases prior to 5), 363-206-290
(Release 5) or 363-206-295 (Release 7),
