TL1/X.25 Interface Cabling - Rear Access
Description
The TL1 interface (also referred to as a TL1X.25 interface) is a message-based
telemetry system. It is an alternative to TBOS or parallel telemetry. The TL1 telemetry
interfaces with a maintenance center to provide DDM-2000 OC-12 system status
information and remote command capability.
NOTE:
Parallel telemetry is not available in OC-12, Release 7.
NOTE:
TL1 interface telemetry is not available with DDM-2000 OC-12 Release 1.0.
NOTE:
TBOS is not available in OC-12, Release 7.
Procedure
NOTE:
The TL1 interface telemetry requires that each shelf in the bay be cabled directly
to the telemetry system.
(1) Obtain a Group 165, 186 or 166 (D.A.) TL1 interface cable listed in Table 2-5 on
page 2-38.
(2) Connect the cable to connector J61 on the rear of the shelf.
(3) Route the cable out of the DDM-2000 OC-12 bay per Figure 2-17 on page 2-64
to the telemetry interface.
(4) Stack the cables in the bay cable channel as shown in Figure 2-2 on page 2-49
or Figure 2-3 on page 2-50.
(5) Dress and tie the cables in the bay as close to the DDM-2000 OC-12 backplane
as possible without touching any backplane pins. Refer to Table 2-11 on page 2-
43.
(6) Connect the other end of the cable as specified in the job specification.
(7) Repeat this procedure for each shelf, if required.
