End-To-End Installation Tests for Ring Applications of the DDM-2000 OC-12 Multiplexer

(4) If the DSNE and/or AGNE (Release 5) or GNE (Release 3) is moved to a differ-
ent node, allowing several minutes for the controllers to reestablish the network,
verify that communications between all nodes in the ring has been reestab-
lished by entering the
rtrv-map; command (Release 5) or the rtrv- nmap;
command (Release 3).
Make STS1 Cross-Connections
NOTE:
In ring configurations, cross-connections consist of terminating cross-connec-
tions at terminating nodes, as well as pass-through cross-connections at each
node between the terminating nodes. Once an STS-1 has been provisioned with
a terminating cross-connect, that STS-1 is committed throughout the ring. Thus
a DDM-2000 OC-12 ring is limited to twelve STS-1 channels.
NOTE:
In order to remove a BBG11B or BBG12 circuit pack from the shelf’s equipment
list, the cross-connections to that circuit pack must be deleted first using the
dlt-
crs-sts1
command.
(1) Determine from the work or circuit order, the terminating (drop) nodes as well as
the pass-through nodes for the service being established.
(2) Use the
rtrv-eqpt; command at each node to verify each shelf is properly
equipped with the proper circuit packs for the service being established.
(3) At all nonterminating nodes in the network, use the ent-crs-sts1 command to
provision pass-through connections. An example for a pass-through connection
for STS-1 #1 would be as follows:
Example:
ent-crs-sts1:mb-1,mb-1:cct=twoway;
NOTE:
Use the rlgn:
tid
; command to login to each node required, to provision
pass-through cross-connections.
(4) At all terminating nodes in the network, use the ent-crs-sts1 command to provi-
sion terminating cross-connections. An example for a terminating cross-connec-
tion would be as follows:
Example: ent-crs-sts1:a-1,mb-1:cct=twoway;
NOTE:
Use the rlgn:
tid
; command to login to each node required, to provi-
sion terminating cross-connections.
