Equipment and Rear Access Cabling for the DDM-2000 OC-12 Multiplexer
Lucent Technologies - Proprietary
See Notice on first page
TBOS telemetry cable options are listed in Table 2-4 on page 2-37.
TBOS telemetry connections are listed in Table 2-10 on page 2-43.
TBOS Cabling
NOTE:
Unless otherwise specified, shelf 1 (bottom shelf) should be cabled directly to the
telemetry equipment. If additional shelves are being installed in the bay, deter-
mine from installation information whether any additional shelves will be cabled
to the telemetry equipment.
Perform the following procedure for all the shelves that require connection to the
telemetry equipment:
(1) Obtain a Group 157, 158 (D.A.), 185 or 180 (D.A.), 195, 196 TBOS telemetry
cable listed in Table 2-4 on page 2-37.
(2) Connect TBOS telemetry cable to connector J62 on the rear of the shelf.
NOTE:
If the DDM-2000 OC-12 shelf telemetry is being connected to a general teleme-
try processor (GTP) shelf, a Group 180 (D.A.), 195 or 196 cable is preferred.
However, if using a Group 157, 158 (D.A.), or 185 cable and the DDM-2000
OC-12 shelf telemetry is being connected to a GTP shelf, a Group 159 cable will
need to be connected between the shelf connector J62 and P62 of the Group
157, 158 (D.A.), or 185 cable going to the GTP equipment. This cable contains a
resistive circuit in one of its connectors to provide compatibility between the
DDM-2000 OC-12 and the GTP.
(3) Route the TBOS cable out of the DDM-2000 OC-12 bay per Figure 2-15 on
page 2-62 to the telemetry system.
(4) Stack the cables as shown in Figure 2-2 on page 2-49 or Figure 2-3 on page 2-
50.
(5) Dress and tie the cables in the bay as close to the DDM-2000 OC-12 backplane
as possible without touching any backplane pins.
(6) Cut the TBOS cable to the desired length at the telemetry panel.
(7) Wire-wrap the loose end of the TBOS cable to the telemetry system making
connections as shown in Table 2-10 on page 2-43.
(8) Repeat this procedure for each shelf to be cabled directly to the telemetry sys-
tem.
