Stand-Alone (Local) Installation Tests for the DDM-2000 OC-12 Multiplexer

Fiber Verification
(1) Disconnect the fiber cable from the OUT jack on a DDM-2000 OC-12 FN OLIU.
Verify that the appropriate DDM-2000 OC-3 MAIN OLIU FAULT LED is flashing,
indicating loss of signal (LOS).
(2) Reconnect this fiber and repeat this procedure for the OUT jack of that same
DDM-2000 OC-3 MAIN OLIU. Verify that the appropriate DDM-2000 OC-12 FN
OLIU FAULT LED is flashing, indicating LOS.
(3) Repeat this procedure for each fiber connection between the DDM-2000 OC-12
and OC-3 shelves.
TBOS Telemetry Test
NOTE:
TBOS is not supported in OC-12, Release 7.
Description
This test verifies proper operation/wiring of the Telemetry Byte-Oriented Serial (TBOS)
telemetry. This test can only be performed if the TBOS link to the maintenance center
has been established or a TBOS telemetry simulator is available.
Perform this test on all shelves connected to a TBOS telemetry system.
Procedure
(1) Issue the command test-tlm-ser (TEST TELEMETRY SERIAL).
(2) At the display prompt, enter the shelf’s display number (which is set by switches
on the SYSCTL).
(3) At the point prompt enter even

(5) Verify that all the even number of display points are set for 20 seconds.
