After a few moments, no alarms should be present (that is, no FAULT LED
lighted on any circuit packs). If alarms are present, press the UPD/INIT push-but-
ton on the SYSCTL. If alarms do not clear, refer to the “Troubleshooting” section
of this manual.
(7) The DCC must be disabled to prevent an “inconsistent DCC switches” alarm
condition when the shelf is looped back on itself. Issue the command
set-
fecom:dcc-all:com=disabled;
to disable DCC.
DSX-3/STSX Transmission Tests
NOTE:
This test requires a BBG11B 3DS3 circuit pack for testing of STSX as well as
DSX-3 cabling. Ensure the Function Unit position associated with the cabling
under test is equipped with a BBG11B circuit pack. If necessary, remove
BBG12B circuit packs and move a BBG11B from slot to slot to test all DSX-3/
STSX cabling.
NOTE:
Press the UPD/INIT push-button whenever a circuit pack is removed.
(1) Unseat the OLIUs from the shelf and press the UPD/INIT button on the SYSCTL
circuit pack.
(2) Place a loopback cable at the DSX-3/STSX for the function group under test.
(3) Enter the command
test-trmsn-t3 followed by a carriage return.
(4) Enter the address of the DS3 muldem under test at the address prompt, fol-
lowed by a carriage return.
NOTE:
Entering a ? at any time will provide a help menu.
(5) Enter
demux at the direction prompt, followed by a carriage return.
(6) Enter a
1 at the duration prompt for a 1-minute test, followed by a carriage
return. This test should pass without any errors.
(7) Isolate and correct the problem if errors are observed.
