c. Connect the P1 and P2 connectors at the other end of the Group 150
cable to the J1 and J2 connectors, respectively, of the corresponding
breakout cable of an ED-8C724-20, Group 372 bay power cable or the J1
and J2 connectors of an ED-8C724-20, Group 371 single shelf power
cable.
(3) For each fan shelf:
a. Locate the ED-8C727-20, Group 148 an shelf power cable.
b. Prepare the ends of the wires on the cable and insert them into the termi-
nal strip on the rear of the shelf per Figure 2-12 on page 2-59 and the fol-
lowing table:
c. To insert the wires into the terminal strip, insert an object such as a small
screwdriver into one of the holes on the rear of the terminal strip and
press forward while simultaneously inserting the prepared wire into the
corresponding hole on the top of the terminal strip. Removing the screw-
driver should then cause the wire to be “grabbed” by the terminal strip.
d. Connect the P3 and P4 connectors at the other end of the Group 148
cable to the J3 and J4 connectors, respectively, of the corresponding
breakout cable of an ED-8C724-20, Group 372 bay power cable or the J3
and J4 connectors of an ED-8C724-20, Group 371 single shelf power
cable.
(4) Route the power cable out of the bay and toward the BDFB or other protection
equipment, stacking the cable in the bay as shown in Figure 2-2 on page 2-49 or
Figure 2-3 on page 2-50.
NOTE:
The DDM-2000 OC-12 is powered by 48 V DC.

WARNING:
Verify that the breakers are off or that the BDFB fuses are not installed.
(5) Splice feeders from the BDFB to the DDM-2000 OC-12 Multiplexer power cable.
NOTE:
Four cables are spliced to each power cable: BAT A, BAT A RTN, BAT B, and
BAT B RTN.
