Possible SolutionMessage on the User
Panel
For FTP and SMB:
•
Check whether the hostname is OK.
•
Check whether the printer is connected to customer's
network.
•
Check the network settings of the printer in Océ Express
WebTools:
- Primary DNS suffix
- Preferred DNS server
- Subnet mask
- Default gateway
•
Check with the System administrator whether the DNS
server can resolve the hostname to an IPv4 address.
•
If IPV6 protocol is enabled on the printer:
- replace hostname with its IPv4 address (if IPV6 must
be enabled).
- disable IPv6 on the printer (if IPV6 can be disabled).
•
If any of previously mentioned checks does not solve
the problem, enter the remote host IPv4 address instead
of the hostname.
For WebDAV:
•
Check whether a proxy is required.
'The remote hostname
cannot be resolved.'
Make sure all folders are correct and in place. Use the cor-
rect syntax.
•
For SMB locations, use the syntax: \\hostname\share-
name\path (example: \\myhost\myshareddirectory\scant-
ofile).
•
For FTP locations, use the syntax: hostname[/path]
(example: myhost/mydirectory/scantofile).
•
For WebDAV locations, use the full HTTP URL (ex-
ample: http://example.webdav.org:8080/repository/.)
'Missing or incorrect
path. Please check the
path or URL syntax.'
For FTP and SMB:
•
Check whether the hostname or IP address is correctly
typed.
•
Check that the remote host is up and running and
connected to the network.
For Eneo:
•
Check whether proxy settings are required.
'The remote host could
not be found. The re-
mote host is either
down or disconnected
from the network, or
the hostname or the IP
address is misspelled.'
