Chapter 2 Engineering Ordering Information
NTP Server Card
Keyword PPAIP is used to set the IP address of port A on both cards
Keyword PPBIP is used to set the IP address of port B on both cards
Keyword PPAWT is used to divide the traffic processing capacity of the card
between port A and port B.
Keyword NTPSLOT=ACT manually sets the selected NPT card to be the active
card while putting the other card on standby.
Case 4: NTP Pair with Port Bonding
When two NTP cards form a redundant pair, and if port bonding is activated, all four
NTP ports will share the same IP address. See Figure 2-19. Switchover from a
problem active port to a standby port can be automatic. Using the three values of
the keyword NTPSLOT, the operator can also manual select which port on which
NTP card is to be the active port or standby port.
Figure 2-19. Two NTP Server Cards with Port Bonding
The provisioning for this setup is summarized below:
Keyword BONDMODE is set to ACTSTBY
Keyword PPAIP is used to set the IP address of Port A
The IP address of Port A automatically becomes the IP address for all four ports
in this situation, and Port A on NTP 1 is the default active port.
