Withthelowrangetractionspeed(mow)selectedandthetractionpedalpushed
intheforwarddirection,oilfromthepistonpumpisroutedoutportAtotraction
manifoldportP1.Pumpowisthenroutedinparalleltohalfthedisplacementof
thefrontwheelmotorsthroughportsA1andtotherearwheelmotorsthrough
unshiftedtractionmanifoldvalvePD1.Theowthatgoesthroughtherearmotors
isthenroutedtotheoppositefrontmotorthroughportsA2ofthefrontmotors(left
reartorightfrontthroughunshiftedPD2andPD5,rightreartoleftfrontthrough
unshiftedPD3andPD4).Oilowthroughtherearandfrontmotorskeepsall
wheelmotorsattheirmaximumdisplacementtoallowalowertractionspeed
alongwithCrossTrax

OilfromthefrontmotorsexitsthemotorsthroughportRandre−entersthe
tractionmanifoldthroughportsM9andM10.Thisreturnoilisroutedtothe
shuttlevalve(SH)thatisshiftedbyfrontwheeltractionpressure.Wheninlow
speedrange,thetractionmanifoldowregulator(FR)allowsapproximately
1.9LPM(0.5GPM)ofhydraulicuidtobleedoffforcoolingoftheclosedloop
tractioncircuitwhentheshuttlevalve(SH)isshifted.Bylimitingtheamountofoil
thatisremovedfromthetractioncircuit,thechanceofafronttirelosingtraction
canbereduced.Returnoilthatisnotbledfromthetractioncircuitisreturnedto
thepistonpumpthroughtractionmanifoldportP2andpistonpumpportB.
Ifarearmotorlosestraction,pressureincreasesintheseriallinebecausetoo
muchowisbeingsenttotheoppositefrontmotor.Thislowersthetorque
availabletothetiretryingtospinsothatoverallmachinetractionismaintained.
Ifafronttirelosestraction,pressureincreasesinthelowsideofthetraction
loopreducingthepressuredifferentialacrossthefrontmotorandincreasing
pressuredropacrosstherearmotors.Thisallowstherearmotorstoprovide
moretractioneffort.
Thetractionmanifoldincludesseveralcomponentsdesignedtoenhancelow
speedtractionperformance.Steeringoricesinthemanifoldserialline(OR1
andOR2)preventtirescufngwhenturning.Theseriallinereliefvalve(RV1)
preventstirescufngandalsoincreasesrearmotorlife.CheckvalvesCV1and
CV2preventcircuitcavitationifeitherofthefrontwheelmotorslosetraction.
