AcontactorisusedonallGroundsmaster5900and5910machinestoprovide
currenttothe24voltcoolingfans.Thecontactorisattachedtotherearpower
centerintherightrearcorneroftheenginecompartment(Figure229).The
contactorisenergizedbythemastercontrollerwhenthekeyswitchisinthe
STARTorRUNposition.
AnadditionalcontactorisusedonallGroundsmaster5910machinestoprovide
currenttothecabmountedelectricalcomponents.Thecontactorisattachedto
therearpowercenterintherightrearcorneroftheenginecompartment(Figure
229).ThecontactorisenergizedwhenthekeyswitchisintheSTARTorRUN
position.
Testing
1.MakesurekeyswitchisOFF .Removekeyfromkeyswitch.
2.Turnbattery−disconnectswitchtotheOFFposition.
3.Recordwireconnectorlocationsoncontactorbeingtestedforassembly
purposes.Disconnectallharnesselectricalconnectorsfromcontactor.
Note:Priortotakingsmallresistancereadingswithadigitalmultimeter,
shortthemetertestleadstogether.Themeterwilldisplayasmallresistance
value(usually0.5ohmsorless)thatisduetotheinternalresistanceofthe
meterandtestleads.Subtractthisvaluefromthemeasuredvalueofthe
componentyouaretesting.
