ThePTOswitchislocatedontheconsolearm(Figure210).ThePTOswitchis
pulleduptoengagethecuttingdecks.
TheslavecontrollermonitorsthepositionofthePTOswitch(engageor
disengage).UsinginputsfromthePTOswitchandotherswitchesintheinterlock
system,theslavecontrollerenergizesthehydraulicsolenoidvalves(PRV)
locatedinthecuttingdeckhydraulicmanifoldsdrivethecuttingdeckmotors.
IMPORTANT
Duringmachineoperation,ifthePTOshutsdownandtheInfoCenter
indicatesexcessiveenginecoolanttemperature,avoidshuttingoff
theengine.Underthiscondition,theoperatorshoulddisengagethe
PTO,slowlydrivetoasafeatarea,lowertheenginespeedtothe
SLOWpositionandengagetheparkingbrake.Theengineshould
beallowedtoidleforseveralminuteswhileitcoolstoasafelevel.
Then,thecoolingsystemshouldbecheckedbeforereturningthe
machinetoservice.
Testing
ThePTOswitchanditscircuitwiringcanbetestedasaTECinputusingthe
InfoCenterDisplay(seeInfoCenterDisplay(page6–9)).Iftestingdetermines
thattheswitchandcircuitwiringarenotfunctioningcorrectly,proceedwiththe
followingtestprocedure:
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdecksandstopengine.
Removekeyfromkeyswitch.
2.Turnbattery−disconnectswitchtotheOFFposition.
3.Disassembletheconsolearmtogainaccesstotheswitch(seeConsole
Arm(page7–35)).
4.Disconnectmachinewireharnessconnectorfromtheswitchbeingtested.
