CAUTION
Theairconditioningsystemisunderhighpressure.Donotloosen
anysystemttingorcomponentuntilafterthesystemhasbeen
completelydischargedbyacertiedA/Cservicetechnician.
WARNING
Alwayswearsafetygogglesorafaceshieldwhenworkingwithair
conditioningsystemcomponents.Also,donotallowrefrigerant
contactwithyourskinoreyesastherewouldbethepossibilityof
seriousinjury.
CAUTION
Neverusecompressedairtoleaktestorpressuretesttheair
conditioningsystem.Undercertainconditions,pressurizedmixtures
ofrefrigerantandaircanbecombustible.
1.Beforeservicinganyairconditioningsystemcomponents,parkmachineona
levelsurface,lowercuttingdecksorattachmentsandstopengine.Remove
keyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Cleanmachinebeforedisconnecting,removingordisassemblinganyair
conditioningsystemcomponents.Thoroughcleaningwillpreventsystem
contaminationwhileperformingserviceprocedures.
3.Beforelooseningorremovinganyairconditioningsystemhoseorother
component,haveacertiedairconditioningservicetechnicianrecoverthe
systemrefrigerantandthenevacuatetheairconditioningsystemcompletely.
Itisillegaltoventrefrigeranttotheatmosphere.
4.Putcapsorplugsonanyairconditioningsystemlines,ttingsorcomponents
leftopenorexposedtopreventmoistureandcontaminantsfromentering
thesystem.
5.Putlabelsondisconnectedlinesandhosesforproperinstallationafter
repairsarecompleted.
6.Ifcompressorisremovedfrommachine,keepcompressorinthesame
orientationastheinstalledposition.Thiswillpreventcompressoroilfrom
llingthecompressorcylinders.
7.Notethepositionofttings(especiallyelbowttings)beforeremoval.Mark
partsifnecessarytomakesuretheywillbealignedproperlywhenreinstalling
hosesandtubes.
8.AlwaysuseaDOTapprovedtankforstoringusedandrecycledrefrigerants.
