TheGroundsmaster5900/5910usestwo(2)batteriesconnectedtogetherin
seriestosupportthe24Voltcoolingfancircuit.The24Voltsystemischarged
byan105Amp24Voltalternatordrivenbyamulti−rowV−belt.The24Volt
alternatorismountedtothemachineframewithisolationwasherstopreventthe
alternatorbodyfromcontactingtheframe.
CAUTION
The24Voltalternatorbodymustremainisolatedfromthemachine
frame.Donotallowmetaltoolstocomeincontactwiththe24Volt
alternatorbodyandothermachinecomponentswhilethe24volt
systemisactive.
Beawareofandkeepawayfromrotatingpartsduringtest.Donot
wearlooseclothingwhileworkingnearrotatingpartsasthesemay
becomeentangledandcausepersonalinjury.
Abattery−disconnectswitchisincludedonthemachinewhichshouldbe
usedtodisconnectthe12VDCand24VDCsystemcomponentsfromthe
electricalpowersupplytopreventcomponentdamageorunexpectedcomponent
operationwhenperformingservice.

2.Useabatteryloadtester(carbonpile)andamultimeter(DCvoltagesetting)
toperformaVoltageDroptestonboththepositiveandnegativecircuits
betweenthealternatorandthebattery(seeVoltageDropT est|DelcoRemy
