Innormaloperatingmode,theradiatorfanswillnotoperateuntiltheengine
coolantreachestheminimumtemperature.Oncetheminimumcoolant
temperatureisreached,thefanswillbegintoturnatlowspeedintheforward
direction(pullingoutsideairthroughtheradiator).TheHydraulicoilcoolerfans
willalwaysrunwhentheengineisrunning.Theywillalsorunatalowspeedin
theforwarddirection(pullingoutsideairthroughtheoilcooler)untiltheminimum
oiltemperature.Fanspeedwillincreaseifthecoolant/hydraulicoiltemperature
increases.Ifmaximumfanspeedintheforwarddirectiondoesnotmaintainthe
coolant/hydraulicoiltemperatureatitsdesiredtemperature,thefanswillreverse
directionandoperateatmaximumspeedfor6seconds.Fanreversecyclescan
occuratoneminuteintervalsasneeded.
Irregardlessofcoolanttemperature,theradiatorfansareprogrammedtoreverse
periodicallytocleandebrisfromtheradiatorscreen.

CAN−busCommunications
Thetwo(2)TECcontrollers,theYanmarEngineControllerandtheInfoCenter
DisplayusedontheGroundsmaster5900and5910communicatewitheach
otheronaControllerAreaNetwork(CAN)bussystem.Usingthisnetwork
allowsthetractionunittofullyintegrateallthedifferentelectricalcomponentsof
thetractorandbringthemtogetherasone.TheCANbussystemreducesthe
numberofelectricalcomponentsandconnectionsusedonthemachineand
allowsthenumberofwiresinthewireharnesstobesignicantlyreduced.The
integrationofelectricalfunctionsalsoallowstheInfo-CenterDisplaytoassist
withelectricalsystemdiagnostics.
EachofthecomponentsthatiscontrolledbytheCANbuslinkonlyneedsfour
(4)wirestooperateandcommunicatetothesystem:CANHigh,CANLow,
powerandground.ThekeyswitchneedstobeintheRUNorSTARTposition
forthecomponentsonthenetworktobeactivated.
Two(2)speciallydesigned,twistedwiresformtheCANbus.Thesewiresprovide
thedatapathwaysbetweenthecomponentsonthenetwork.Theengineering
termforthesecablesareCANHighandCANLow.Thebuswiresforthe12
VDCcircuitsareblack/whiteandred/white.Attheendofthetwistedpairofbus
cablesisa120ohmterminationresistor.
IMPORTANT
Theterminationresistorattheendofthebuswiresisrequiredfor
properelectricalsystemoperation.
