Thecruisecontrolswitchislocatedontheconsolearm(Figure218).When
thetopofthecruisecontrolswitchisdepressed,thecruisecontrolfeatureis
off.Whentheswitchismovedtothecenterposition,thecruisecontrolfeature
isenabledbutnospeedisset.Whenthemachineismovingintheforward
directionabovetheminimumspeedandtheswitchismomentarilymoved
downward,thecruisecontrolfeatureisengagedandthecurrenttractionspeed
willbemaintained.
Theslavecontrollermonitorsthepositionofthecruisecontrolswitch(off,enable
orengage).Theslavecontrollercommunicatestheswitchpositiontothemaster
controllerviatheCANnetwork.Usinginputsfromthecruisecontrolswitch
andthetractionpedalpositionsensor,themastercontrollerholdsthepiston
(traction)pumpforwardcontrolsolenoidinitscurrentposition.Onceengaged,
thecruisingspeedcanbeincreased(+)ordecreased(−)incrementallythrough
theInfoCenterDisplay(seeInfoCenterDisplay(page6–9)).
Note:Thecruisefunctionisdisengagedwhenthecruisecontrolswitchissetto
OFForifthetractionpedalispressedtothereversedirection.
Testing
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdecksandstopengine.
Removekeyfromkeyswitch.
2.Turnbattery−disconnectswitchtotheOFFposition.
3.Disassembletheconsolearmtogainaccesstotheswitch(seeConsole
Arm(page7–35)).
4.Disconnectmachinewireharnessconnectorfromtheswitchbeingtested.

multimeter(ohmssetting),theswitchfunctionsmaybetestedtodetermine
whethercontinuityexistsbetweenthevariousterminalsforeachposition.
Verifycontinuitybetweenswitchterminals.
