TheHigh/Lowrangetractionspeedswitchislocatedontheconsolearm(Figure
216).WhenthefrontoftheHigh/Lowrangetractionspeedswitchisdepressed,
thetractionsystemwillshifttoHIGHrangetractionspeed.Whentherearofthe
High/Lowrangetractionspeedswitchisdepressed,thetractionsystemwillshift
toLOWrangetractionspeed.
ThemastercontrollermonitorsthepositionoftheHigh/Lowrangetraction
speedswitch(highorlow).UsinginputsfromtheHigh/Lowrangetraction
speedswitchandotherswitchesintheinterlocksystem,themastercontroller
communicatestheswitchpositiontotheslavecontrollerviatheCANnetwork.
Theslavecontrollerenergizesthehydraulicsolenoidvalve(SV)locatedin
thetractionhydraulicmanifoldforhighrangeoperationandde−energizesthe
solenoidvalveforlowrangeoperation.
Testing
TheHigh/Lowrangetractionspeedswitchanditscircuitwiringcanbetestedas
TECinputsusingtheInfoCenterDisplay(seeInfoCenterDisplay(page6–9)).
Iftestingdeterminesthattheswitchanditscircuitwiringarenotfunctioning
correctly,proceedwiththefollowingtestprocedure:
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdecksandstopengine.
Removekeyfromkeyswitch.
2.Turnbattery−disconnectswitchtotheOFFposition.
3.Disassembletheconsolearmtogainaccesstotheswitch(seeConsole
Arm(page7–35)).
4.Disconnectmachinewireharnessconnectorfromtheswitchbeingtested.
