Thecuttingdeckpositionswitchesandtheircircuitwiringcanbetestedas
TECinputsusingtheInfoCenterDisplay(seeInfoCenterDisplay(page6–9)).
Iftestingdeterminesthattheswitchanditscircuitwiringarenotfunctioning
correctly,proceedwiththefollowingtestprocedure:
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdecks,stopengineand
removekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Checktomakesurethepositionswitchisadjustedcorrectly(seeCutting
DeckPositionSwitchAdjustment(page6–46)).Makesurethesensingplate
andswitchbracketisnotlooseordamaged.
3.Disconnectpositionswitchthatrequirestestingfrommachinewireharness.
4.Checkthecontinuityoftheswitchbyconnectingamultimeter(ohmssetting)
acrosstheswitchconnectorterminals.
5.Withthecuttingunitintheloweredposition,thereshouldbecontinuity(zero
resistance)acrosstheswitchterminals.
6.Raisethecuttingunit.Thereshouldbenocontinuity(inniteresistance)
acrosstheswitchterminals.
7.Replaceswitchasneeded.Reconnectswitchtomachinewireharness.
8.Iftheswitchtestscorrectlyandacircuitproblemstillexists,checkthewire
harness(seeAppendixA(pageA–1)).
9.Checkandadjustswitchpositionasnecessary(seeCuttingDeckPosition
SwitchAdjustment(page6–46)).
