13.2 Allocation of the PROFINET device name
For unique identification within a network, a PROFINET device must be allocated a
device name. To do this, proceed as follows:
● Connect the encoTRive directly to the Ethernet interface of the configuration PC
(e.g. PG) or mediately via the CPU.
● Choose in the TIA-Portal in Projekt tree -> Online access -> the
corresponding network connection -> Update accessible devices
● Establish the connection via Online & diagnostics.

● Specifiy under Functions -> Assign PROFINET device name the
PROFINET device name.
● Click the button Assign name
