4.16.2 Determining the Action when Cotton
Fails to Meet Lot Limits
This selection is used to determine which retest action(s) will take place
when a sample is rejected as a result of one of its properties.
♦ Verify — This option prompts a warning message to appear when
a property fails to meet one of the Lot Limits specifications. When
this message appears, the operator must select "R (Reject)" when
requested to retest the sample if appropriate.
♦ Retest — This option requires that the operator perform one (1)
retest when a property is out of specification. If the sample is still out
of specification, another test will not be performed. The property
that is out of specification is marked as a lot limit rejection.
