CHECKING THE POWER TRIM AND
TILT RELAY

1. Check:
• Power trim and tilt relay continuity
Out of specification → Replace.
2. Check:
• Power trim and tilt relay operation
No continuity → Replace.
Checking steps
(1) Connect the digital tester between
power trim and tilt relay terminals 1
and +.
(2) Connect a 12-V battery as shown.
(3) Check that there is continuity between
the power trim and tilt relay terminals.
(4) Connect the digital tester between
power trim and tilt relay terminals +
and 2.
(5) Connect a 12-V battery as shown.
(6) Check that there is continuity between
the power trim and tilt relay terminals.
