12. Remove the output shaft bearing cap, 1, and
apply a thin coat of silicone sealant to the
shoulder of the cap; reinstall the cap on the
housing, install the anti-wrap shield, 2, and retain
with the previously removed hardware. Coat the
ends of the cap screws with silicone sealant prior
to installation to seal them to the housing.

13. Install the conditioner drive assembly, 1, by
applying a thin bead of silicone sealant to the
shoulder, 2, on the housing, and install it on the
gearbox with the idler arm oriented to the 2
o’clock position. Retain the conditioner drive
assembly using six cap screws and lock
washers. Apply silicone sealant to the cap screw
threads to seal them to the housing.
14. With the gearbox positioned level, fill it with Case
135H EP (API GL5 80W90) gear oil or Case Gear
Lube SSL (75W90 synthetic) to the bottom of the
level plug, 3; this will take approx. 1.85 l (62.5
oz.). Apply a thin bead of silicone sealant around
the top of the bevel gearbox opening; run the
silicone over the bolt holes. Install the cover
plate, 4, and install ten cap screws and lock
washers to retain it; the cap screws should be
installed through the bead of silicone sealant to
seal them to the housing.
