18 Control Tab
The customizable and optional “Control” tab introduced in software version 2.2.0 allows the
operator to execute a set of macros in one single click. This feature is particularly useful in
emergency cases. For instance, in case of a crash recovery, the player will resume the show but
the operator will have to quickly execute some macros such as “projector lamp on.” Below is a
capture of the new “Control” tab. The controlview.xml.example file contains names of macros
that should be renamed according to the macro names that already exist, or that you create on
your server.
18.1 Download the File from the FTP
• You can download the controlview.xml.example file from the Doremi FTP site. Please
contact Doremi Labs Technical Support for login credentials.
• Once the file has been downloaded, you have to copy the file into /doremi/etc/ folder.
• Example: If your file is on a USB flash drive, which mounts as /media/usb0/ when plugged
in a DCP-2000 USB port, you must type:
cp /media/usb0/controlview.xml.example /doremi/etc/ <Enter>
18.2 Configuring the Control Tab
• You have to rename the controlview.xml.example file as controlview.xml.
• Type: cp /doremi/etc/controlview.xml.example /doremi/etc/controlview.xml
• As a system administrator, you can add or subtract sections and buttons by editing the
controlview.xml file (e.g., using xedit utility).
• Type: xedit /doremi/etc/controlview.xml <Enter>
• This will open the file with xedit text editor. Edit the file to the parameters that you would like
to have (Section 18.2.1).
• Once finished editing with xedit, click the Save button to save the configuration.
• Close the terminal window.
• CineLister must be closed and opened to refresh the tabs. The Control tab will be displayed
after CineLister is closed and opened.
