Plane to Cylinder
From the MAIN menu, touch CONSTRUCT > ANGLES > PLANE TO
CYLINDER. Use this command to measure an angle between a plane and a
cylinder on your part.
1 Choose an existing plane in the P
LANE drop-down list or touch the MEASURE
NOW icon to measure the first plane:
• Place the ball probe on the part and digitize points by pressing the GREEN
button. You must digitize at least three points for a plane. Hold the RED
button to remove any unwanted points.
• Pull away from the face, and press the RED button to define probe
compensation and complete the measurement.
• Look at the plane results. Press the GREEN button to accept, or the RED
button to reject and remeasure.
2 Choose an existing cylinder in the C
YLINDER drop-down list or touch the
MEASURE NOW icon to measure the cylinder:
• Place the ball probe on the part and digitize points by pressing the GREEN
button. You must digitize at least six points for a cylinder. Hold the RED
button to remove any unwanted points.
• Pull away from the hole, or post, and press the RED button to define probe
compensation and complete the measurement.
• Look at the cylinder results. Press the GREEN button to accept, or the RED
button to reject and remeasure.
3 The angle solves; look at the angle results. Press the GREEN button to accept
the angle, or press the RED button to reject and remeasure. If you reject the
angle, the two features remain in the file. Delete any unwanted features using
the REVIEW FEATURES command. See “Review Features” on page 143.
4 Touch the L
ABEL field to change the feature name. Touch the NOMINALS
icon to enter nominal values. See “Nominals” on page 143.
