4 Touch the BACK button to return to the FILES menu, or the HOME button to
return to the MAIN menu.

OTE: Part Data files are automatically saved when running Macro files. See
“Save Macro” on page 147.
Save Report
Use this command to save part data to a text (*.txt) file. This data is in the current
PART SETUP, and you can open it with Microsoft Excel
on your computer. See
“Part Setup” on page 103.

OTE: If a nominal field is blank it will not appear on any results screen or in a
report file. See “Nominals” on page 143.
1 Enter the part name.
2 Enter the part serial number.
3 Touch the location:
Local
•SD RAM Card
•USB Drive

OTE: Touch the other location buttons to quickly save the Report files to
multiple locations.
4 Touch the BACK button to return to the FILES menu, or the HOME button to
return to the MAIN menu.

Using Report Files in Excel
You can view, edit, and print your simple text (*.txt) part file in Excel.
1 Remove the SD RAM Card or USB Drive from the Edge.
2 Insert the SD RAM Card or USB Drive into your computer.
3 Start Excel and open the part file using one of two methods.
Use the OPEN command:
Click the Office Button and choose OPEN.
•Click the F
ILES OF TYPE drop-down list and choose TEXT FILES.
Navigate to the SD RAM Card or USB Drive location on your computer.
Click on the part file and click OPEN.
