Bluetooth
1 From the MAIN menu, choose CONNECTION.
2 Select the B
LUETOOTH icon.
For details on the setup of your computer, see “FARO Wireless - Bluetooth” on
page 40.
3 Connect the Edge using Bluetooth to the FaroArm driver. See “FARO Wireless
- Bluetooth” on page 40.

OTE: If the WiFi is enabled, the Bluetooth automatically disables.
Ethernet
1 From the MAIN menu, touch SETTINGS.
2 From the SETTINGS menu, touch CONNECTION.
3 Touch the ETHERNET button.
4 Touch DHCP or Static IP for the Ethernet connection. DHCP automatically
assigns the Edge an IP address. If you are working on a network and need a
specific IP address every time you connect the Edge, touch Static IP.
• If you choose Static IP, touch the NEXT button.
• Enter the IP address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway.
5 Touch the OK button.

6 Connect the Edge on the network to the FaroArm driver. See “FARO Ethernet
Setup” on page 49.
WiFi
WiFi or Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) allows you to connect to an
existing wireless network access point, or configure the Edge as an access point.

OTE: Using the Edge as an access point is not password protected.
1 From the MAIN menu, touch SETTINGS.
2 From the SETTINGS menu, touch CONNECTION.
3 Touch the WiFi button to enable WiFi.
• Touch DHCP or Static IP for the WiFi to Network connection. DHCP
automatically assigns the Edge an IP address. If you are working on a
network and need a specific IP address every time you connect the Edge,
touch Static IP.
