Chapter 4: Probes
• Medium Force Probe Module (Gray cap)
• Extended Force Probe Module (Brown cap)
Refer to the Renishaw TP-20 Installation and User’s Manual for the TP-20 Probe
assembly instructions.
Measuring Software
The measuring software must be configured for the probe. If you are using
CAM2 Measure (4.0 and X), CAM2 Q, or CAM2 Measure (v10 or later):
1 Create a new probe:
• In CAM2 Measure and CAM2 Q, choose the DEVICES < DEVICE
CONTROL command and click the P
ROBE MANAGEMENT button. See
“Change Probe” on page 173.
• In CAM2 Measure v4 and X choose the PROBES command. See
“Probes” on page 178.
2 Create a new probe and switch the auxiliary port to the ON position by
placing a check mark in the Aux Switch check box. See “Edit Probe” on
page 180.
3 Compensate the probe using the FARO Compensation Sphere, or any
precision sphere, after installation. See “Sphere Compensation Method” on
page 187.
If you are using the Edge software:
1 Create a new probe:
• On the Fold-Down Touch Screen Controller, touch the PROBE
COMPENSATION button.
• Touch SPHERE METHOD button.
• Touch the probe, enter a new name, and touch OK.
2 Press the SETTINGS button.
• Touch the ENABLE I-PROBE button.
• Enter a probe diameter.
• Touch the OK button.
3 Compensate the probe using the FARO Compensation Sphere, or any
precision sphere, after installation. See “Sphere Compensation Method” on
page 187.
Some software packages have other probe options that must also be controlled.
