Chapter 4: Probes
Operation
The probe digitizes a point when it makes contact with an object. It may digitize
multiple points when bounced off an object. Watch the Handle LED light and
listen to the sounds of the computer to ensure that only one point was digitized.
The Handle LED light turns off and the computer sounds when a point is
digitized. Additional points will not record until after the de-bounce time has
elapsed.
FARO Sensor
The FARO SENSOR is a dual function touch-trigger probe/scanning probe for
the Edge. It attaches to the Edge like any standard probe. See “Installing Probes”
on page 53.
N
OTE: The Sensor will not attach to FaroArm Platinum or Fusion. Installing
the Sensor to anything other than a FaroArm Edge or a FaroArm Quantum
damages the Sensor.

The Sensor Probe Kit contains:
• Sensor body
• 3mm Sensor styli
• 6mm Sensor styli
• Renishaw Wrench
• Renishaw (M4) stylus tool
• Renishaw (CK200) cleaning kit
N

To instal the Sensor probe:
1 Remove the current probe.
