1. Follow the Power Up Procedure, described above. Then click the On button (14). Set the following
controls as specified. (These are the default settings, so if you have not changed them the settings
will be correct).

2. Connect a 50 ohm dummy load or tune VFO A (1) to a quiet frequency on the selected band. If
using the 100W PA, use the TUN button (20) to verify power output on the TX Meter (4) (Set to
Fwd Pow). If using the integrated ATU, select Full on the ATU Mode selection (19) and then click
the TUN button (20). See the section below on ATU Operation for more on how to use the ATU.
CAUTION: If not using the ATU and not using a 50 ohm dummy load, ensure that the
antenna presents a 50 ohm load with a low SWR or damage may occur to
the SDR output transistors.
3. Press the Push-to-talk button on the microphone or click the MOX button (16) and speak into the
microphone to transmit your voice. Release the Push-to-talk button or click the MOX button (16) to
switch the transceiver back to receive. If you do not see modulation on the spectrum, please
reference the Troubleshooting chapter below.
