RF Downconverter Section Description
A12 YTF Preselector
The YTF Preselector is used for input frequencies of 3.6 GHz and higher. The 
YTF Preselector is a YIG tuned bandpass filter whose main purpose is to 
eliminate unwanted mixing products. When the YTF is properly aligned, the 
tunable bandpass filter will track the instrument's current input frequency. The 
YTF Preselector has a 3 dB bandwidth greater than 40 MHz and an insertion 
loss of approximately 6.5 dB.
Control for this assembly comes from the A15 Front End Controller assembly.
There are two different A12 YTF Preselector assemblies used in the N9038A - 
one for instruments with Option 503, 508, or 526 and one for instruments with 
Option 544.
The connections to and from the A12 YTF Preselector assembly are as listed in 
Table 6-3 and as illustrated in Figure 6-3 and Figure 6-4.
