A15 Front End Control Assembly Troubleshooting
12.Turn the internal low band preamp on by pressing AMPTD, More, Internal
Preamp, Low Band.
13.Measure the voltage level of the Test Points listed in Table 8-10 for the
Internal Preamp Low Band condition.
If the test point voltages are correct (±0.5V) proceed to the next step. If
not, there is most likely a problem with the A15 Front End Control
assembly.
14.Turn the internal low band preamp off by pressing AMPTD, More, Internal
Preamp, Off.
15.Tune the instrument to a frequency of 1 GHz by pressing FREQ, 1 GHz.
16.Measure the voltage level of the Test Points listed in Table 8-11 for a
Frequency of 1 GHz.
If the test point voltages are correct (±0.5V) proceed to the next step. If
not, there is most likely a problem with the A15 Front End Control
assembly.
17.Repeat step 15 and step 16 for the rest of the Frequency values listed in
Table 8-11.
18.Tune the instrument to a frequency of 20 GHz (1 GHz for Option 503 and
508) by pressing FREQ, 20 GHz.
