12.11.2 Setting the coupling (in zero position)
12.11.2.1 Setting the zero position
Turn the packer in the working direction manually by turning the flywheel until the roller (8)
catches in place in the zero adjuster (9).
Then:
1. Adjust the set screw (3) so that when the coupling is completely disengaged and the anvil
(4) is lying flush, the middle of the roller (5) is lying B = 5 - 8 mm on the trigger ratchet
(6).
2. In this position of the anvil (2), adjust the threaded rod (4) until the feeler rocker (1)
maintains a distance of C = 5 - 10 mm from the edge of the packer tray.

3. Now draw the feeler rocker (1) into its rear position. The tine tips (10) of the feeler rocker
must extend with D= 1-5 mm into the slots of the packer tray (fix this position with the set
screw (7)).
The tine tips must not at all extend into the packer tray.
Note
If values C and D are not reached, it may be because the absorbing mechanism is impeding
the rotating path of the feeler rocker. Next, readjust the brake yoke of the absorbing mechanism
(refer to chapter Settings “Absorbing mechanism”).

Check the stop (10)
After limitation due to set screw (7) the measurement “E” between stop (10) (left side of
machine) and the feeler rocker (1) needs to be checked.
With feeler rocker (1) swiveled out measurement “E” must be = 3 - 8 mm.
Should this not be the case, the stop (10) on swiveled out feeler rocker must be readjusted.
To do this:
• Loosen the screws (11)
• Move the stop (10) until the measurement has “E” = 3 - 8 mm
• Loosen the screws (11)
