12.11.4 Absorbing mechanism

The purpose of the absorbing mechanism is to prevent the feeler rocker from triggering the VFS
clutch unintentionally by recoiling back against it.
The length of the braking path in the two stop positions can be adjusted with the brake yoke (2).
Adjust the brake yoke (2) so that the distance from the brake plate (3) in the respective end
settings of the feeler rocker to the two outer edges of the anvil (4) is the same. Otherwise the
brake yoke (2) could restrict the rotating path of the feeler rocker.
The spring (1) on the brake should be pre-tensioned to a dimension of B = 50 mm (simple
spring length).

12.11.4.1 Checking the setting
Pull the anvil (4) through the feeler rocker into the rear position. Measure dimension A
between the edge of the anvil and the brake plate (3). Now pull the anvil (4) through the feeler
rocker into the forwardmost position. Dimension A on the other side of the anvil must be the
same size. Otherwise it can be set by moving the brake yoke (2).

The spring setting is made in the zero position (refer to chapter Settings variable filling system
(VFS) "Setting the zero position")
• When the zero adjuster is in its locked state, the spring should be tensioned to a
dimension of "A" = 185 mm
