Circuit Descriptions
Engine Starter Control
Holding the key switch in the start position supplies a 36 volt “input request” to the main machine controller
to engage the engine starter. In turn the main machine controller sends a 12 volt output to the starter relay
winding. The other side of the winding connects to the ECU. The ECU must connect the circuit to battery
negative to energize the starter relay. If the engine is already running, the ECU will prevent the starter
relay from operating.
