4. Attach cable chase cover brackets to curve motor mounts (see Installing Cable Chase
Cover Brackets on page 254).
5. Attach the motor mounts to all motors (see Installing Motor Mounts on Motors and
Switches on page 255).
6. Install the motors, make sure that the motors are collinear to each other and the tops of
all motors are coplanar to each other and tighten the V-braces (see Align and Secure
Railless Motors on page 261).
NOTE: If motors are installed in a wash-down environment, it must not exceed IP65.
Make sure that there is sufficient space around the motor mounting surface
for all connectors and for the bend radius of all cables.
7. Attach the precision rail support post assemblies to the beam (see Attach Precision
Rail Support Posts to the Beam on page 284).
NOTE: Loosely fasten all precision rail hardware (finger-tighten then back off
one-half turn) to allow for alignment and final adjustments once all compo-
nents within the system have been assembled.
8. Attach the precision rails to the support posts (see Attach Rails to Spine Plates on
page 285).
9. Install the vehicles on the system (see Replace Precision Rail Vehicles on page 428).
NOTE: Install vehicles (pucks) on captive closed loop systems before closing the
loop to eliminate the need to remove a precision rail.
10. Once all components are loosely fastened together, make final adjustments and tighten
(see Align and Secure Rails to Spine Plates on page 288 and Secure Spine Plates to
Support Posts on page 291).
11. Install the power supplies, node controllers, network switches, and cables (see Install-
ing Electronics on page 263).
12. Make all communication, network, and power connections (see Connecting Motors
and Electronics on page 266 and Network Connections on page 302).
13. Install cable chase covers once all wiring is complete and has been tested (see Install-
ing Cable Chase Covers on page 278).
14. Install the user-supplied electrical power and communication connections (see Facili-
ties Connections on page 302).
15. Create the Node Controller Configuration File (see Software on page 307).
16. Power up the system and check all operating features, safety features, and connections
(see System Check-out on page 309) and install software (see System Power-up on
page 310).
