Install the Optional Precision Rail Lubrication Pump System
The following procedure provides the information that is required to install the lubrication
pump system (catalog number C920600) that is shown in Figure 5-41. The lubrication pump
system comes with tubing to connect the fittings on the rail to the pump. The pump is supplied
with push-to-connect connectors with plugs. These plugs help prevent oil from leaking during
shipment. Remove these plugs to connect the distribution tubes. The pump fittings contain a
check valve to help prevent backflow when a replacement reservoir is installed. See the man-
ufacturers documentation for detailed information.

Required Tools and Equipment
• C920600 – Lubrication Pump Kit, Single.
Procedure
If the installation requires the tubing to exit the pumps vertically, replace the brass elbows
with the straight brass fittings that are supplied with the kit before mounting the pump.
1. Locate the mounting position for the pump.
The pump must be located within the 10 m [32.8 ft] of tube routing distance of the
lubrication connector on the precision rail. Additionally, the pump must be located
within 5 m [16.4 ft] of the +24V DC power supply. The location must be accessible for
maintenance and visible for monitoring the status indicators on the pump. Observe the
clearance requirements that are shown in Figure 5-42.
NOTE: The power connection can be routed to a digital output on the host controller
to provide remote switching of the pump.
