13.7.2) Oil temperature sensor

The sensor Q for oil temperature
observation is screwed into oil
pump housing. The sensor is a
NTC resistor and identical with
the two sensors for the cylinder
head temperature.
The max. operating temperatures
must not be exceeded. At tem-
perature rise above the limit check
the following:
— lubrication system
— temperature sensor
— indicating instrument
— wiring connections
— sensor cable
â—† NOTE: Grounding connection of the sensor direct via the oil pump
housing.
At installation secure temperature sensor with LOCTITE 221 and tighten to 10
Nm (90 in.lb).
â– ATTENTION: Before exchanging a temperature sensor let the engine cool
down first. Hazard of burning or scalds.
